Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award

Nominations are now open for the inaugural Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award, given by the Baratta Center for Global Business at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. This competitive honor will be awarded to five outstanding Georgetown University alumni under the age of 40 to recognize exemplary leadership, innovation, and impact in advancing the positive aspects of globalization and doing good for people around the world.

About the Award:

In keeping with the mission of the Baratta Center and Georgetown McDonough, the Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award will recognize the future leaders of global business as they engage in innovative and sustainable initiatives to foster cross-border business and economic development. Those selected will exemplify the Spirit of Georgetown and its Jesuit values of excellence, global perspective, diversity, the common good, respect, action-orientation, and social justice.

There will be no monetary compensation associated with this award.

Nominations are open to all qualified alumni until September 8, 2024. Nominations, including self-nominations, can be submitted by filling out this form.

A student committee will perform an initial screening of the applicants, before submitting a shortlist to the awards committee. The awards committee includes Georgetown deans, Baratta Center advisory board members, Georgetown alumni, and other recognized global leaders. The winners of the award will be announced at a ceremony on October 8, 2024, at the Baratta Center’s Annual Future of Global Business conference.

About the Baratta Center for Global Business:

The vision of the Baratta Center for Global Business at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business is to be the venue for discussing and shaping the future of global business. The center does so by connecting students and faculty to business, government policy, society, and academic and applied research, discussing a range of topics about the future of global business, and serving as a catalyst for organizations to act on key ideas and recommendations.

The Baratta Center engages with key stakeholders to help discuss and shape global business issues such as globalization and how businesses can do good for the world. Baratta Center activities include working groups, roundtable discussions, company case studies, speaker series, an annual conference, white papers, and student and visiting fellowships, among others.
