Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award
The Baratta Center for Global Business at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2nd Annual Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award. This competitive honor will be awarded to five outstanding Georgetown University alumni under the age of 40 to recognize exemplary leadership, innovation, and impact in advancing the positive aspects of globalization and doing good for people around the world.
Nominations Open for 2025 Global Impact Award
In keeping with the mission of the Baratta Center and Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, the Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award will recognize the future leaders of global business as they engage in innovative and impactful initiatives to foster cross-border business and economic development.
Those selected exemplify the Spirit of Georgetown and its Jesuit values of excellence, achievement, action-orientation, global perspective, diversity, the common good, respect, and social justice.
The recipients will receive a plaque, an invitation to join the Baratta Center’s Advisory Board as a guest member for a one-year term, join one of the Baratta Center Working Groups, and be honored as a speaker or panelist at one of our roundtables or conferences. There will be no cash compensation for this award.
Recipients will be honored during the Baratta Center’s annual conference in fall 2025.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify, a nominee must:
- Be a Georgetown University alumnus of any program
- Be age 40 years or younger as of June 30, 2025
- Exemplify the Spirit of Georgetown by promoting globalization with leadership, innovation, and positive impact
- Work in business, policy, academia, government, finance, investing, nonprofit, arts and culture, or related industries
How to Apply:
- We accept nominations and self-nominations for this award.
- Submit the nomination form to submit an initial nomination, including contact information for the nominee as well as up to two referrals, and a description of the candidate’s global impact.
- After review, a member of the global awards committee will reach out to selected nominees to conduct an interview.
Selection Process:
An initial screening will be done by a student committee, before submitting a shortlist to the awards committee consisting of Georgetown deans, Baratta Center Advisory Board members, alumni, and other recognized global leaders. The recipients of the award will be announced at a ceremony at the Baratta Center’s Annual Future of Global Business conference.
Nominations close on Monday, June 30, 2025.
The 2024 Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award
In the inaugural edition of the Georgetown Baratta Center Global Impact Award, five outstanding candidates were selected from a pool of over 50 applicants.
These awardees have made a profound impact in their careers in food, global development, education, environment, and public policy.
